In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Newell-Fonda Mustangs volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Alta-Aurelia Warriors.

The Mustangs (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Southeast Valley (Gowrie, IA). The Jaguars enter the non-league challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Southeast Valley was tipped by Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Warriors meet the Sioux Central Rebels (Sioux Rapids, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 5. Alta-Aurelia will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Rebels enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pocahontas (Pocahontas, IA).
