In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Ames Little Cyclones.

The Norsemen (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Kuemper (Carroll, IA). The Knights enter the challenge with a 7-0 record. In their last challenge, Kuemper got by Humboldt (Humboldt, IA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Little Cyclones meet the Ottumwa Bulldogs (Ottumwa, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 5. Ames will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 6-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Davis County (Bloomfield, IA).
