In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Wylie Bulldogs football squad scored a good 28-14 triumph over the Monterey Plainsmen.
The Bulldogs (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Coronado (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Coronado prevailed over Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX), 26-18, in a non-league battle.
The Plainsmen now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Frenship Memorial for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 11. Monterey will play a Panthers team coming off a 30-14 non-league win over West Plains (Amarillo, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 2-0.
