With the triumph, Mount Vernon upgrades its record to 9-0 on the year. The Mustangs host Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA) to play the WolfPack in a 1A D-I Region 5 game on Thursday, September 4. The WolfPack enter the game with a record of 5-3. Whitefield Academy won 4-3 in their recent non-league game against McEachern (Powder Springs, GA)

The Bears now own a 9-3 record. They play next when they host Blessed Trinity for a 4A Region 6 match on Thursday, September 4. Cambridge will confront a Titans team coming off a 10-6 league loss to Kell (Marietta, GA). The Titans record now stands at 6-1.
