In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Springfield Southeast Spartans volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Manual Rams.
The Spartans (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Normal University (Normal, IL). The Pioneers come into the Central State Eight test with a 5-2 record. In their last outing, Normal University beat Springfield (Springfield, IL), 2-0, in a league outing.
With the loss, Manual drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rams host Galva (Galva, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Thursday, September 4. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 1-3. Galva lost 2-0 in their recent non-league game against Putnam County (Granville, IL)
