In Friday's league game, the Newton Eagles (Newton, TX) football team smashed the visiting Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX), by a final score of 69-0.

The Eagles (5-1) will now prepare for their game against Hemphill (Hemphill, TX). The Hornets come into the 3A-2 Region III District 12 game with a 6-0 record. In their last game, Hemphill overwhelmed Kountze (Kountze, TX), 59-6, in a league game.
