    In Friday's league match, the host East Union Urchins football squad scored a good 41-21 victory over the Belmont Cardinals.

    In their next game, the Urchins clash with the Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) in a 2A Region 1 match, on Thursday, October 6. East Union will attempt to move on its 1-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the match with a 3-3 record after their 49-6 league loss to Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS).

    The Cardinals (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Potts Camp (Potts Camp, MS). The Cardinals enter the 2A Region 1 match with a 5-2 record. In their last match, Potts Camp thwarted Myrtle (Myrtle, MS), 45-21, in a league match.
