In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Independence Patriots football squad scored a good 28-20 victory over the Douglas Bulldogs.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the Kellis Cougars (Glendale, AZ) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 7. Independence will attempt to move on its 1-3 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 0-4 record after their 32-31 non-league loss to Fairfax (Laveen, AZ).
