In Friday's league match, the visiting J.I. Burton Black Raiders football squad scored a good 50-21 victory over the Eastside Spartans.
In their next game, the Black Raiders clash with the Lee Generals (Jonesville, VA) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 7. J.I. Burton will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Generals enter the match with a 3-2 record after their 42-24 league win over Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA).
The Spartans (0-6) will now prepare for their match against Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA). The Eagles enter the Cumberland match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Rye Cove dropped by Lee (Jonesville, VA), 42-24, in a league match.
