The Myrtle Hawks football team (Myrtle, MS), was beaten 45-21 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Potts Camp Cardinals (Potts Camp, MS)

The Cardinals (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Belmont (Belmont, MS). The Cardinals come into the 2A Region 1 challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Belmont was beaten by East Union (Blue Springs, MS), 41-21, in a league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Baldwyn for a 2A Region 1 challenge on Thursday, October 6. Myrtle will meet a Bearcats team coming off a 49-6 league win over Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 5-1.
