The Benavides Eagles volleyball team (Benavides, TX), went down 3-0 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX)

The Pirates (10-18) will now prepare for their challenge against Taft (Taft, TX). The Greyhounds come into the 3A Region IV District 29 challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Taft went down by Goliad (Goliad, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Ben Bolt Badgers (Ben Bolt, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 4. Benavides will attempt to move on its 0-11 season record.
