New Mexico High School Football - West Mesa drops to Sandia

September 30, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87121

In Saturday's league game, the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) football team knocked off the host West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), by a final score of 36-28.

The Matadors (5-1) will now prepare for their game against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles come into the 6A District 2/5 game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Eldorado was dropped by La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM), 74-20, in a league game.

The Mustangs now hold a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Farmington for a 6A District 2/5 game on Friday, October 6. West Mesa will battle a Scorpions team coming off a 48-28 non-league loss to Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM). The Scorpions record now stands at 4-2.
