In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Edna Karr Cougars volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets.
The Cougars (11-4) will now prepare for their battle against Belle Chasse (Belle Chasse, LA). The Cardinals come into the Division II District 7 battle with a 14-11 record. In their last battle, Belle Chasse achieved victory over Covenant Christian Academy (Houma, LA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Hornets encounter the East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, October 2. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will attempt to advance on its 8-11 season record. The Spartans come into the battle with a 15-15 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Catholic - N.I. (New Iberia, LA).
