The Gillespie Miners volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Central A & M Raiders to 1 in the Miners non-league victory on Saturday.
The Miners now possess a 6-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Decatur Eisenhower for a non-league game on Saturday, September 30. Gillespie will meet a Panthers team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 4-19.
The Raiders (5-16) will now prepare for their game against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL). The Rams enter the Central Illinois game with a 12-7 record. In their last game, Shelbyville nipped Pawnee (Pawnee, IL), 2-0, in a non-league game.
