The Chieftains (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Sutherlin (Sutherlin, OR). The Bulldogs enter the 3A/2A/1A-SD4 Special District 4 battle with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Sutherlin tipped North Valley (Grants Pass, OR), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Lancers confront the St. Mary's Crusaders (Medford, OR) in a 3A/2A/1A-SD4 Special District 4 battle, on Thursday, October 2. South Umpqua will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Crusaders enter the battle with a 6-2 record after their 6-0 league win over Rogue River (Rogue River, OR).
