The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Verdigris Cardinals (Claremore, OK) and the visiting Locust Grove Pirates (Locust Grove, OK), observed Verdigris's softball team notch a victory over Locust Grove by a final score of 10-0.

The Cardinals (21-7) will now prepare for their contest against Sallisaw (Sallisaw, OK). The Black Diamonds enter the non-league contest with a 1-6 record.

The Pirates now hold a 19-14 record. They play next when they host Sequoyah for a 4A District 7 match on Tuesday, September 30. Locust Grove will battle a Eagles team coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Booker T. Washington (Tulsa, OK). The Eagles record now stands at 14-17.
