Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates (Hugo, CO) and the visiting Byers Bulldogs (Byers, CO), observed Genoa-Hugo/Karval's volleyball team top Byers by a count of 3-1.

With the win, Genoa-Hugo/Karval improves its record to 6-6 on the season. The Pirates host Flagler (Flagler, CO) to encounter the Panthers in a 2A/1A Union Pacific battle on Friday, October 3. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 8-3. Flagler lost 3-1 in their recent league battle against Stratton (Stratton, CO)

The Bulldogs now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they host Deer Trail for a 2A/1A Union Pacific contest on Thursday, October 2. Byers will battle a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Lone Star (Otis, CO). The Eagles record now stands at 5-8.
