Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Mitchell County Eagles (Camilla, GA) and the visiting Calhoun County Cougars (Edison, GA), observed Mitchell County's volleyball team hold off Calhoun County by a count of 2-1.

The Eagles (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Westover (Albany, GA). The Patriots enter the non-league contest with a 0-8 record. In their last battle, Westover was edged by Sherwood Christian Academy (Albany, GA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Cougars now own a 1-18 record. They put it on the line next when they host Baker County for a 1A Area 1 battle on Tuesday, September 30. Calhoun County will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to CHESS Academy (Tifton, GA). The Bears record now stands at 6-16.
