Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) and the visiting Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), saw Champaign Central's soccer squad knock off Mattoon by a count of 3-1.

The Maroons (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Springfield (Springfield, IL). The Senators enter the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last match, Springfield nipped Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL), 3-1, in a league match.

The Greenwave now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville for a non-league match on Saturday, September 6.
