Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) and the visiting Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), saw East Columbus's soccer squad triumph over Douglas Byrd by a score of 7-2.

The Gators (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against North Duplin (Calypso, NC). The Rebels enter the Carolina 1A/2A battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, North Duplin was overwhelmed by Spring Creek (Seven Springs, NC), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
