The Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) soccer nipped the visiting Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL), 2-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Roxana for a Cahokia (Mississippi Division) contest on Saturday, September 6. Salem will battle a Shells team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL). The Shells record now stands at 1-3.
The Bulldogs (6-1) will now prepare for their contest against Mater Dei (Breese, IL). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Mater Dei held off Centralia (Centralia, IL), 3-1, in a non-league contest.
