Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Pike Liberal Arts Patriots (Troy, AL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Purple Cats (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Kinston (Kinston, AL). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Kinston beat Goshen (Goshen, AL), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Zion Chapel Rebels (Jack, AL) in a 2A Area 5 challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Pike Liberal Arts will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Barbour County (Clayton, AL).
