Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Stratton Eagles (Stratton, CO) and the host Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates (Hugo, CO), observed Stratton's volleyball team top Genoa-Hugo/Karval by a count of 3-0.

The Eagles (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Caliche (Iliff, CO). The Buffaloes go into the non-league battle with a 4-0 record.

The Pirates now own a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Evangel Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 9. Genoa-Hugo/Karval will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Custer County (Westcliffe, CO). The Eagles record now stands at 5-0.
