In Thursday's league challenge, the host Simley Spartans volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Hill-Murray Pioneers.

The Spartans (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Hastings (Hastings, MN). The Raiders come into the Metro East challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Hastings was nudged by Chatfield (Chatfield, MN), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pioneers meet the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats (Lindstrom, MN) in a non-league test, on Monday, September 8. Hill-Murray will attempt to advance on its 3-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the test with a 6-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Johnson (St. Paul, MN).
