The North Polk Comets topped the visiting Newton Cardinals volleyball squad by a tally of 2-0 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Comets now have a 6-6 record. They play next when they host Winterset for a Raccoon River outing on Tuesday, September 9. North Polk will play a Huskies team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Van Meter (Van Meter, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Newton drops to 5-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Pella Christian (Pella, IA) to play the Eagles in a Little Hawkeye outing on Tuesday, September 9. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 4-5.
