In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting West End Christian Crusaders volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Tidewater Academy Warriors.

The Crusaders (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against James River HomeSchool (Chesterfield, VA). The Eagles enter the VHSAA challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, James River HomeSchool was nudged by Fredericksburg Victory (Fredericksburg, VA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Warriors meet the Southampton Academy Raiders (Courtland, VA) in a Virginia Colonial challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Tidewater Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Southampton (Courtland, VA).
