Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats confront the Wyalusing Valley Rams (Wyalusing, PA) in a PIAA District IV-A challenge, on Thursday, September 7. Athens will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record.

The Hornets now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Port Allegany for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 9. Wellsboro will confront a Gators team coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Bradford (Bradford, PA). The Gators record now stands at 3-3.
