In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Putnam County War Eagles volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Piedmont Academy Cougars.
The War Eagles (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Glenn Hills (Augusta, GA). The Spartans come into the battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Glenn Hills was edged by Davidson Fine Arts (Augusta, GA), 2-0, in a league battle.
