The Weddington Warriors felled the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks football team by a score of 27-7 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Warriors play the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 12. Weddington will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 12-10 non-league win over Monroe (Monroe, NC).
The Mavericks (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Providence toppled Huss (Gastonia, NC), 29-26, in a non-league challenge.
