Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), saw Carmel Christian's soccer squad knock off Union Academy by a score of 4-1.

The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Legion Collegiate Academy (Rock Hill, SC). The Lancers enter the non-league battle with a 2-1 record. In their last battle, Legion Collegiate Academy tipped Providence Day (Charlotte, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Cardinals confront the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A battle, on Wednesday, September 11. Union Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record.
