With the win, Marquette improves its record to 4-4 on the season. The Crusaders travel to Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL) to encounter the Comets in a non-league test on Monday, September 9. The Comets go into the test with a record of 0-5. Reed-Custer lost 2-0 in their recent league test against Streator (Streator, IL)

The Wildcats now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hoopeston for a non-league test on Saturday, September 7. Lowpoint-Washburn will encounter a Cornjerkers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over St. Anne (St. Anne, IL). The Cornjerkers record now stands at 1-3.
