Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats (Delhi, IA) and the host Marquette Defenders (Bellevue, IA), observed Maquoketa Valley's volleyball team top Marquette by a tally of 3-0.

The Wildcats (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against MFL MarMac (Monona, IA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, MFL MarMac was beaten by Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Defenders meet the Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 7. Marquette will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Huskies enter the contest with a 2-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over West Central (Maynard, IA).
