The Russell County Lakers volleyball squad (Russell Springs, KY), dropped 2-0 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting South Warren Spartans (Bowling Green, KY)

With the win, South Warren improves its record to 10-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to Oldham County (Buckner, KY) to encounter the Colonels in a non-league battle on Saturday, September 7. The Colonels go into the battle with a record of 10-2. Oldham County won 3-2 in their recent non-league battle against Christian Academy-Louisville (Louisville, KY)

The Lakers now own a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monroe County for a District 16 battle on Monday, September 9. Russell County will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Cumberland County (Burkesville, KY). The Falcons record now stands at 8-1.
