New Mexico High School Football - Wingate holds off Cuba

The Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) football tipped the visiting Cuba Rams (Cuba, NM), 24-20 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Bears now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCurdy for a non-league game on Saturday, September 13. Wingate will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 40-38 non-league win over Tucumcari (Tucumcari, NM). The Bobcats record now stands at 1-1.

The Rams (0-3) will now prepare for their game against Valencia (Los Lunas, NM). The Jaguars enter the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Valencia was edged by Belen (Belen, NM), 28-27, in a non-league game.
