The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX) and the host Dawson Bulldogs (Dawson, TX), witnessed Leon's football squad edge Dawson by a tally of 7-0.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Wortham (Wortham, TX). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Wortham was nudged by Rio Vista (Rio Vista, TX), 37-6, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bulldogs battle the Rosebud-Lott Cougars (Rosebud, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 12. Dawson will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 49-14 non-league win over Thrall (Thrall, TX).
