The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Peabody Golden Tide (Trenton, TN) and the visiting Gibson County Pioneers (Dyer, TN), witnessed Peabody's football squad wallop Gibson County by a count of 49-0.
The Golden Tide (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Jackson Central Merry (Jackson, TN). The Cougars enter the 2A Region 7 contest with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Jackson Central Merry walloped Brighton (Brighton, TN), 30-0, in a non-league battle.
The Pioneers now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty Tech Magnet for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Gibson County will play a Crusaders team coming off a 45-0 non-league win over Middleton (Middleton, TN). The Crusaders record now stands at 3-0.
