California High School Football - Kahuku can't hold off Mater Dei

September 5, 2025: Santa Ana, CA 92707

Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Kahuku Red Raiders (Kahuku, HI), 21-18 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Mater Dei improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Monarchs travel to Centennial (Corona, CA) to play the Huskies in a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. The Huskies come into the match with a record of 2-1. Centennial won 42-6 in their recent non-league match against Bingham (South Jordan, UT)

Coming up next, the Red Raiders meet the Kapolei Hurricanes (Kapolei, HI) in a OIA Open match, on Saturday, September 13. Kahuku will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Hurricanes go into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 35-0 non-league win over Kapa'a (Kapa'a, HI).
