The Springfield Spartans football team (Akron, OH), was crushed 34-0 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Minerva Lions (Minerva, OH)

With the win, Minerva advances its record to 2-1 on the season. The Lions travel to Sandy Valley (Magnolia, OH) to encounter the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Friday, September 12. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Sandy Valley lost 47-27 in their recent non-league bout against East Canton (East Canton, OH)

The Spartans now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cloverleaf for a Metro contest on Friday, September 12. Springfield will battle a Colts squad coming off a 42-18 non-league win over Carrollton (Carrollton, OH). The Colts record now stands at 2-1.
