    • Arizona High School Football - Payson triumphant over San Tan Foothills

    September 5, 2025: Queen Creek, AZ 85142

    The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ) and the host San Tan Foothills Sabercats (Queen Creek, AZ), witnessed Payson's football squad wallop San Tan Foothills by a tally of 46-0.

    The Longhorns (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Apache Junction (Apache Junction, AZ). The Prospectors go into the 3A Mountain bout with a 0-3 record. In their last bout, Apache Junction was crushed by Chinle (Chinle, AZ), 14-12, in a non-league bout.

    The Sabercats now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Shadow Mountain for a non-league bout on Friday, September 12. San Tan Foothills will encounter a Matadors team coming off a 40-14 league loss to River Valley (Mohave Valley, AZ). The Matadors record now stands at 1-2.
