The Smithfield Sentinels felled the visiting Scituate Spartans football team by a score of 18-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Sentinels play the Tri-County RVT Cougars (Franklin, MA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 12. Smithfield will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Cougars go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 49-12 non-league win over Cape Cod RVT (Harwich, MA).

With the defeat, Scituate drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Spartans host North Smithfield (North Smithfield, RI) to meet the Northmen in a Division IV test on Saturday, September 13. The Northmen come into the test with a record of 0-1. North Smithfield lost 14-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI)
