Florida High School Football - Sumner wallops Wharton

September 5, 2025: Riverview, FL 33579

The Sumner Stingrays football team scored 44 points and restricted the visiting Wharton Wildcats to 7 in the Stingrays non-league win on Friday.

In their next game, the Stingrays face the Newsome Wolves (Lithia, FL) in a 7A District 7 challenge, on Friday, September 12. Sumner will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Wolves go into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 24-15 non-league win over East Bay (Gibsonton, FL).

The Wildcats (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Robinson (Tampa, FL). The Knights go into the non-league challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, Robinson was ripped by Plant (Tampa, FL), 78-7, in a non-league challenge.
