Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Wilcox Chargers (Santa Clara, CA), 40-24 in a non-league match.

The Monarchs (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Menlo-Atherton (Atherton, CA). The Bears enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Menlo-Atherton was beaten by Acalanes (Lafayette, CA), 41-6, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Chargers confront the Hollister Haybalers (Hollister, CA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 12. Wilcox will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Haybalers enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 49-0 non-league win over Branham (San Jose, CA).
