In Friday's non-league match, the host Waukomis Chiefs softball team scored a tight 9-2 win over the Hobart Bearcats.

The Chiefs (10-6) will now prepare for their match against Covington-Douglas (Covington, OK). The Wildcats enter the non-league game with a 0-4 record. In their last game, Covington-Douglas was routed by Shattuck (Shattuck, OK), 13-0, in a league game.

The Bearcats now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Hooker for a 2A game on Thursday, September 18.
