The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Mullen Mustangs (Denver, CO) and the visiting Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO), observed Mullen's softball team get by Montezuma-Cortez by a tally of 14-7.

The Mustangs (7-1) will now prepare for their bout against Niwot (Niwot, CO). The Cougars go into the non-league bout with a 2-3 record. In their last bout, Niwot was routed by Holy Family (Broomfield, CO), 14-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Palisade Bulldogs (Palisade, CO) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, September 6. Montezuma-Cortez will attempt to better on its 2-11 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Rifle (Rifle, CO).
