In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Niwot Cougars softball team scored a tight 14-7 victory over the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers.
The Cougars (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Mullen (Denver, CO). The Mustangs come into the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Mullen nipped Rangeview (Aurora, CO), 12-10, in a non-league challenge.
The Panthers (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Palisade (Palisade, CO). The Bulldogs enter the non-league challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Palisade edged Rifle (Rifle, CO), 7-6, in a non-league challenge.
