In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting South Spartans volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Hawthorne Cougars.

The Spartans (9-2) will now prepare for their test against Notre Dame Academy (Los Angeles, CA). The Regal Gryphons go into the non-league challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Notre Dame Academy was beaten by Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Brea Olinda Wildcats (Brea, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 10. Hawthorne will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
