Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) boosters left the game thrilled Friday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Three Rivers Bulldogs (Three Rivers, TX), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs (9-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Pettus (Pettus, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 0-14 record.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ingleside for a non-league test on Friday, September 12. Three Rivers will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Orange Grove (Orange Grove, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-15.
