Marietta Blue Devils (Marietta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Johns Creek Gladiators (Johns Creek, GA), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Paulding for a 7A Region 3 challenge on Thursday, September 8. Marietta will battle a Wolfpack squad coming off a 4-1 non-league win over South Paulding (Douglasville, GA). The Wolfpack record now stands at 10-1.

With the loss, Johns Creek falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Gladiators travel to Lassiter (Marietta, GA) to battle the Trojans in a 6A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, September 8. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 12-2. Lassiter won 9-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Hillgrove (Powder Springs, GA)
