In Wednesday's non-league battle, the visiting Apollo Hawks volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Independence Patriots.

The Hawks (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ). The Mustangs come into the non-league battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Sunrise Mountain was edged by Liberty (Peoria, AZ), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
