The Anson Bearcats topped the host Central Academy Cougars volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Wednesday's league test.

The Bearcats now have a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monroe for a Rocky River 2A/3A test on Thursday, September 7. Anson will confront a Redhawks team coming off a 3-0 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Redhawks record now stands at 0-6.

The Cougars (0-8) will now prepare for their test against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers enter the Rocky River 2A/3A test with a 5-2 record. In their last test, Piedmont gained a win over Forest Hills (Marshville, NC), 3-1, in a league test.
